>> Three cheers for 5 years of The Music Obsession! It's crazy to think about, but my site turns 5 years old tomorrow (June 8th, 2013). When I first started this site, I didn't think anybody would ever read it. I wasn't trying to be a news source, I just wanted to write about the bands that I liked and the shows that I would never forget. It was more of a way for me to document my love of my favorite bands and experiences, and one day a band from Philadelphia found it. They asked me to review their album, and the rest is history. All it took was for one person to see something more than a young girl gushing over the music that made her happy.
>> Both the site and I have grown a lot in the past 5 years. I started doing interviews and acoustic sessions and things that I never thought I'd be able to do. I have been able to cover the Vans Warped Tour for the past few years, and more importantly, I've been able to make some great friends along the way. The past 5 years have been filled with experiences I'll never forget, and that's why I feel it necessary to celebrate this milestone. Whether you have been supporting my site for the past 5 years or the past 5 minutes, every view, click, and share means the world. If nobody took the time to read my posts or take the time to sit down for an interview, this site wouldn't be half of what it is now. So thank you. Thank you all for helping to keep The Music Obsession going and growing stronger every day.
TMO5: The Give-Away
>> Here's the fun part! In celebration of the past 5 years, I have a bunch of stuff to give-away. I have 3 signed posters, tons of unsigned posters, stickers, samplers, and more from over the years. (I've been waiting for this day for a long time, and it's clear based on some of the items that are sure to bring on some nostalgia for whoever receives them.) There are 3 Big Prizes which include a signed poster and a CD, plus some bonus goodies (not pictured, but definitely included). There are also 5 additional prize packs made up of posters, stickers, and samplers. Trust me, there's a lot of stuff in each prize pack.
- The First Big Prize: A signed poster from The Wonder Years and a copy of the band's album Suburbia I've Given You All And Now I'm Nothing, plus a little postcard with a lyric. (+ extra posters, stickers, etc)
- The Second Big Prize: A signed poster from Go Radio plus a copy of and a poster for Punk Goes Pop 3. (+ extra posters, stickers, etc)
- The Third Big Prize: A signed poster from The Promise Hero and a copy of Punchline's album Delightfully Pleased. (+ extra posters, stickers, etc)
- All other prize packs include an assortment of posters, stickers, and samplers from various bands and labels. Some examples can be seen below. I did my best to make sure nobody ends up empty handed!
