It doesn't matter if we play for 5 people or 500. At the end of the day, that's still 5 more people that have heard our music and have given us a chance.>> We left after they played & the guys stayed at my house that night. (*Note: This is by no means a common occurrence.) The next morning, their van wouldn't start. It wasn't in the best condition to start with, considering it was from 2000 & had over 300,000 miles on it. Long story short, the guys ended up taking a train to New York City, then another to Rhode Island.
"We had to hail a ride by hitting up every person in our contacts and finally got a hit from a friend. Hah, so it was a stroke of luck that we got out of RI." - Zakk>>They had to leave the van at my house, which is a good 5 hours away from where they live. Zakk had to borrow a car to drive back down that Sunday (2 days later) just to find out that the van started this time, and the tow company wouldn't take it. He had to drive back home by himself without the van, having gone a total of 10 hours out of his way for nothing. He came back down again the next day, and the van died again after going only a few blocks. He ended up having the van taken to a junk yard on December 22nd since it wasn't worth trying to fix it. Now they're working without the van, which will make it much harder to get to shows, let alone get all of their equipment there too. It was a really complicated, stressful, drawn out situation that nobody should have to experience, but it was handled with determination and only mild frustration.
Dear Finch fans,
....
.. ..
Over the past two years we as a band have obsessed tirelessly trying to bring you the best record Finch has ever made. Blowing everything else out of the water was the only option. If we couldn't drop the bomb, we wouldn't blow it up.....
.. ..
....From the beginning what's always made up the sound of Finch was our ability to take our individual influences, no matter how different, and write music together that stands on it's own. A tense balancing act on a loose wire where we have had success crossing and also lost balance to fall and be broken. Over the past few years we have collectively gone insane trying to achieve the common goal of writing our new record. It's become obvious to all of us that the thing that made Finch such a special band to be in, was also the key ingredient that was tearing us apart. As we get older and broaden our musical pallets, we are all on separate planets drifting further and further out of orbit. Finch is our sun, it has given us everything that we have. This year our sun imploded. Although we travel through darkness. It's comforting to know that we are all still friends. Together floating in the unknown.
....
.. ..
....We want to thank you for your undying love and support of our band. Without you, accomplishing our wildest dreams would not have been possible. We apologize deeply for letting you down. Please forgive us and please keep listening to Finch.
.. ..
Thank you for Finch.
.. ..
-Finch....

Over the past 6 years, our band has been through some of the most intense and incredible experiences of our lives. None of these things have been without trial. We've worked so hard to get to where we are and the fact that you are all still here with us says something about you that we will never be able to truly understand. You have stuck with us through thick and thin and we are so grateful. A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn't seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn't here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere. But we never for a second thought about leaving any of this behind. We really hope that you can be encouraged by the fact that the three of us who are still here are ready to take on another chapter of our journey together. You have always been what keeps us going so why would we stop now? We want to stick by you. Knowing that we have a unified passion and a clear vision makes us feel stronger than ever. The "blog" that was posted regarding everything that is going on with our band was a fake. We aren't sure who did it or why... And we aren't sure how they timed it this way. This is the first time that we have spoken out about what's going on and we wouldn't have released an official statement that important through a personal blog. So, we're sorry for any confusion and just to remain clear, this is the first time we have spoken out about this.We have some amazing things lined up for next year starting with our tour in South America. We are still coming to you and we are excited about who we are bringing with us! The tour is still on and we can't wait to see you all.As we look back, and now as we look with excitement to the future, in all of this what truly matters are the good times. The pictures of us with our arms around each other, the long van rides, your faces while you sing along as we play. Thank you for getting us right here to this very moment. We look forward to our best times. And we hope you will go there with us.Love,Hayley, Jeremy & TaylorParamore
